Stepping on the campus of Chapin School, you enter an extraordinary place for children. It is a place where all of our energies are dedicated to helping children become their best selves. We purposefully create an environment to meet their needs from early childhood to emerging adolescence. We are pioneers in providing a leading-edge academic experience, and we are fundamentally committed to helping all of our students become people of strong character.
Our Young Pre classroom is for ages. This age group is working on developing their fine and gross motor skills, that are gaining independence
This is an important part of respect, as it means we recognize achievements and capabilities of individuals. But it is also the easier aspect of living respect because we are already impressed with the person or organization. They have already earned our respect.
The bigger challenge is respecting people, from clients and fellow employees to partners and vendors, when their path may not perfectly align with ours
I value taking responsibility because it gives us a determination to leave things better than we found them, whether it’s taking your cup to the kitchen at the end of the day or taking responsibility for delivering a result. Job titles often prevent us putting all our talents and abilities to good use. In my experience the wonderful happens when all of us bring our ideas, humour and spirit to the table.
Creating the future we want requires us to accept responsibilities outside our comfort zones.
False modesty signals insecurity. I know this because I’ve lived it. I’ve always loved a definition of meekness that a friend shared as “having all the power in the world, and knowing when and how to use it.” Humility is breathtaking in its release of ego, or the need to prove oneself, and the welcoming of our spiritual Source. For me, humility defined Jesus’ gentle power and immeasurable impact
It’s because kindness assumes caring for others is a benchmark of civilised human society, and it naturally leads to the equality, equity and equilibrium that arises from recognising each other’s humanity. In other words, kindness assumes a simpler, more equitable world.
This definition sheds light on why so many religions and movements have some variation of the “do unto others” rule of life.
